Transbandara Airport Bus Fare of Rp 15,000 Takes Effect Tomorrow, Users Still Consider It Worth It
The new Transbandara bus fare for the Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route, set at Rp 15,000, takes effect tomorrow. Transbandara bus users consider the fare still reasonable and cheaper compared to other modes of transport.
“In my opinion, it is quite a jump from Rp 3,500 to Rp 15,000. But compared to taking the train to the airport or Damri, this is still cheaper. For me, it is still worth it,” said Transbandara bus user Meysi at Blok M Terminal, South Jakarta, on Monday (31/8/2026).
She said she chooses the Transbandara bus because the price is cheaper than regular taxis or online taxis. She noted that an online taxi fare from South Jakarta to the airport can reach Rp 200,000.
“It is still very reasonable. In my opinion, from Rp 3,500 — the issue is the distance, right? If we go there by online taxi, it can be Rp 200,000,” Meysi said.
Meysi hopes there will be improvements to the luggage storage area. According to her, passengers often struggle because suitcases have to be lifted into the Transbandara bus.
Another Transbandara user, Andika, said the new Transbandara bus fare is still cheaper than other modes of transport. He said the price is commensurate with the distance travelled.
“Actually, Rp 15,000 is not too expensive,” he said.
Previously, the TransJakarta Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport (SH2) bus service was inaugurated on 12 March 2026 by Pramono. The service underwent a trial period with a fare of Rp 3,500.
The DKI Jakarta provincial government then conducted an evaluation of the bus service fare. The provincial government subsequently decided to rename the bus as Transbandara and set the fare at Rp 15,000. The new fare takes effect from 1 September 2026.
