Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) recorded a transaction volume through BSI Agents experiencing growth of 14.54 percent (year-on-year/yoy) with a total of 8.6 million transactions up to March 2026. The number of BSI Agents also increased by 11.31 percent (yoy), reaching more than 128,000 agents spread across various regions in Indonesia. “This increase reflects the high level of public trust in BSI Agent services while strengthening BSI’s position in driving the transformation of community-based banking services,” said BSI Director of Sales & Distribution Anton Sukarna in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday. In addition to the impact on the bank’s performance, the Company stated that the BSI Agents programme also opens up economic opportunities for the agents. “This makes BSI Agents not only a channel for financial services but also a means of community economic empowerment,” Anton added. BSI Agents provide banking services to the public in the form of cash withdrawals, transfers, cash deposits, bill payments, and hajj fee settlements. Anton added that BSI Agents also help increase sharia financial literacy and inclusion to the remotest villages through the agent-based service scheme. Currently, the Company has spread across 1,130 branches throughout Indonesia, serving 6,000 ATMs/CRMs, partnerships with 16,000 BSI Agent EDC machines, 21,000 merchant EDCs, and 563,000 QRIS merchants. “BSI will continue to expand the BSI Agents network as part of the strategy to strengthen the national sharia financial ecosystem and ensure that sharia banking services can be accessed equitably by all layers of society up to the remotest villages,” said Anton.
