Transactions at National MTQ Exhibition in Central Java Reach Rp2.4 Billion
The micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) exhibition held in conjunction with the 31st National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) in Central Java, located at the former Plaza Semarang parking area in Simpang Lima, Semarang, successfully recorded transactions reaching Rp2.4 billion.
The Head of the Central Java Industry and Trade Office (Disperindag), July Emmylately, stated in Semarang on Saturday that the total transactions were generated from 150 MSME stalls. Of the total Rp2.4 billion, retail transactions accounted for Rp2,385,574,640, while pre-orders reached Rp23,651,000.
In addition to direct sales, the exhibition, which ran from 12 to 19 September 2026, also facilitated business contracts between entrepreneurs with a total value of reaching Rp7.54 billion. “It is hoped that this exhibition serves as a promotion for the community’s economy,” she said during her report at the Closing Ceremony of the 31st National MTQ Exhibition.
Over the eight-day period, the exhibition was visited by approximately 80,000 people, with high visitor enthusiasm remaining visible until the final night. The 150 participating stalls included 24 provincial stalls, 70 regency/city stalls, 20 culinary stalls, 10 partner stalls, 12 ministry stalls, and 14 independent stalls.
Central Java Regional Secretary, Sumarno, expressed hope that these transaction achievements and collaborations would serve as a starting point for MSMEs to expand their markets. “On behalf of the Central Java Provincial Government, I would like to express my gratitude for the participation that allowed this side event of the MTQ exhibition to run smoothly,” he said.
He noted that the government plays a vital role in facilitating MSMEs to continue growing. He mentioned that one of the greatest challenges to address is not only producing quality products but also expanding marketing reach. “This exhibition is one of the ways we can assist our fellow citizens in marketing their products,” he added.
Sumarno expressed hope that the transactions and partnerships formed during the exhibition would not cease once the event concludes. He hopes the established networks will continue to develop into broader business relationships.
However, Sumarno reminded that the exhibition is part of the wider National MTQ series. Beyond the economic activity generated, he hopes the MTQ proceedings will bring the community closer to the Al-Quran. Therefore, he invited all parties to view the National MTQ not merely as a major momentum for various activities, but as an opportunity to increase love and closeness to the Al-Quran.
