Vehicle volume on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) experienced an increase of up to 27.30 per cent during the recent long holiday, which coincided with Eid al-Adha, Vesak Day, and Pancasila Day. PT Hutama Karya (Persero) recorded an average daily traffic of 139,061 vehicles across all operational toll segments on 30 May 2026, representing a 27.30 per cent increase compared to normal traffic conditions.

To ensure safety and comfort, Hutama Karya conducted continuous operational monitoring, covering field traffic conditions, personnel readiness, and the optimisation of supporting facilities. The Pekanbaru-XIII Koto Kampar section saw the highest traffic growth, with 9,403 vehicles passing through, an increase of 67.46 per cent compared to regular days. Significant increases were also recorded on the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road with 13,504 vehicles (up 66.61 per cent) and the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road with 4,576 vehicles (up 66.10 per cent).

Other segments also reported growth: the Terbanggi Besar-Kayu Agung Toll Road recorded 14,856 vehicles (up 12.84 per cent), the Palembang-Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road saw 15,874 vehicles (up 14.53 per cent), and the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road recorded 16,376 vehicles (up 9.88 per cent). The Acting Executive Vice President Secretary of Hutama Karya, Hamdani, advised the public to prepare their journeys thoroughly before entering the toll roads. Road users are reminded to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, drivers are in peak condition, and electronic money balances are sufficient to ensure smooth travel. “If feeling tired or drowsy, road users are urged to rest immediately at the nearest rest area and not to force the journey,” Hamdani stated in his briefing on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
