Trans-Sumatra Toll Road Sees Surge of 213,826 Vehicles in Lebaran Return Traffic
Traffic volumes on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) continue to surge as the Lebaran 2026 return flow progresses. So far, traffic on several main sections is still experiencing increases compared to normal traffic, particularly on corridors connecting cities and access routes to urban areas. Acting EVP Corporate Secretary of PT Hutama Karya (Persero), Hamdani, stated that this condition indicates that public mobility during the Lebaran return period remains high in various regions. “Cumulatively, the total daily traffic on the operational toll sections reached 213,826 vehicles, an increase of 100.18% compared to normal traffic. Monitoring is conducted continuously as part of Hutama Karya’s commitment to ensuring that toll road services remain safe, smooth, and comfortable for all road users,” Hamdani said on Sunday (29/3). The daily traffic recap for operational toll sections is as follows: • Vehicles crossing the Terbanggi Besar – Kayu Agung Toll (Terpeka) recorded 26,512 vehicles, up 95.75% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Palembang – Indralaya – Prabumulih Toll (Palindra and Indraprabu) recorded 30,424 vehicles, up 117.07% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Betung – Tempino – Jambi Toll (Bayung Lencir – Tempino – Sp. Ness) recorded 12,642 vehicles, up 53.09% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Bengkulu – Taba Penanjung Toll (Bengtaba) recorded 3,305 vehicles, up 61.69% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Pekanbaru – Dumai Toll (Permai) recorded 22,890 vehicles, up 42.95% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Pekanbaru – XIII Koto Kampar Toll recorded 16,637 vehicles, up 171.23% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Indrapura – Kisaran Toll recorded 19,131 vehicles, up 86.03% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Kuala Tanjung – Tebing Tinggi – Parapat Toll (Kuala Tanjung – Sinaksak), managed by PT Hutama Marga Waskita (HMW), recorded 44,204 vehicles, up 117.48% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Binjai – Langsa Toll (Binjai – Pangkalan Brandan) recorded 17,765 vehicles, up 85.73% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing sections 2–6 of the Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll (Seulimeum – Baitussalam) recorded 13,640 vehicles, up 311.71% from normal traffic. • Vehicles crossing the Padang – Sicincin Toll recorded 6,676 vehicles, up 101.21% from normal traffic. Meanwhile, for toll sections operated functionally during the Lebaran 2026 Return Flow period on 28 March 2026, the records are as follows: • Section 1 of the Sigli – Banda Aceh Toll (Sibanceh) (Seulimeum – Padang Tiji), which has been opened functionally since 7 December 2025, recorded 5,402 vehicles in traffic. • The Palembang – Betung Toll (Kramasan – Pangkalan Balai), opened functionally since 13 March 2026, recorded 6,825 vehicles in traffic. “Hutama Karya urges all road users to plan their journeys well, especially for those travelling during the Lebaran return period,” he said. He explained that road users are expected to obey traffic signs and speed limits, maintain a safe distance, ensure the vehicle and driver are in prime condition, and rest at the nearest rest area if feeling tired or drowsy. He added that the company is committed to maintaining the smoothness and safety of traffic on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road through the readiness of personnel, supporting facilities, and coordination with relevant parties as a manifestation of #ServingWholeheartedly. “The public can also monitor the latest information on traffic conditions and toll services through the official @hutamakaryatollroad account, the HK Toll Apps application which provides operational information and real-time traffic updates, as well as the official Hutama Karya website on the special Lebaran 2026 Mudik Info menu,” he concluded.
