JAKARTA — Vehicle traffic on the Trans Sumatera Toll Road (JTTS) has shown a significant increase ahead of the 2026 Eid holiday season.

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) recorded 135,924 vehicles traversing the operational toll sections on 14 March 2026, representing a 31.16 per cent increase compared to normal traffic levels.

Hamdani, Acting Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs at PT Hutama Karya, stated that the traffic increase is becoming visible on several major toll sections, particularly those serving as inter-city connectors and access routes to urban areas. “This increase reflects the beginning of heightened population movement as people travel ahead of the Eid holiday period,” Hamdani said in a statement on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

The Terbanggi Besar–Kayu Agung toll section recorded 21,655 vehicles, a 59.89 per cent increase over normal traffic. The Palembang–Indralaya–Prabumulih toll sections (Palindra and Indraprabu) saw 22,464 vehicles, representing a 60.27 per cent increase from normal conditions.

The Betung–Tempino–Jambi toll section recorded 10,526 vehicles, a 25.35 per cent increase over normal traffic. The Pekanbaru–Dumai toll road saw 16,859 vehicles, up 5.28 per cent.

The Pekanbaru–XIII Koto Kampar toll section recorded 7,440 vehicles, an increase of 21.29 per cent, whilst the Indrapura–Kisaran toll section recorded 10,367 vehicles, up 0.81 per cent compared to normal traffic conditions.

The Kuala Tanjung–Tebing Tinggi–Parapat toll section (Kuala Tanjung–Sinaksak), managed by PT Hutama Marga Waskita, also recorded relatively high traffic with 25,340 vehicles, representing a 24.67 per cent increase over normal conditions.

The Binjai–Langsa toll section recorded 11,818 vehicles, a 23.55 per cent increase over normal traffic levels.

The most significant surge occurred on the Sigli–Banda Aceh sections 2–6 (Seulimeum–Baitussalam), which saw 7,555 vehicles, a substantial 128.04 per cent increase over normal traffic.

Beyond the currently operational toll sections, Hutama Karya also recorded traffic on toll sections being operated functionally during the 2026 Eid season.

On 14 March 2026, the Sigli–Banda Aceh Section 1 (Seulimeum–Padang Tiji), operated functionally, recorded 3,418 vehicles. The Palembang–Betung toll section (Kramasan–Pangkalan Balai), also operated functionally, recorded 5,409 vehicles.

Overall, total vehicle traffic on these functionally operated toll sections reached 8,827 vehicles.
