Trans-Java Toll Road Continues to Expand, Nearing Completion to Banyuwangi
The Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) toll road project is being accelerated. This National Strategic Project (PSN), spanning 49.68 km and managed by PT Jasamarga Probolinggo Banyuwangi (JPB), is designed to complete the connectivity from Jakarta to the eastern tip of Java, serving as the primary access route to Bali.
Jasa Marga President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that the company is committed to completing the construction with an emphasis on quality, safety, and good governance. “Jasa Marga continues to accelerate the completion of the Prosiwangi Toll Road as part of our commitment to supporting the national development agenda. We ensure that every construction stage is carried out prioritising quality, safety, and sustainability, while providing added value to the community through local labour absorption and regional economic development,” said Rivan.
Currently, the priority for this toll road project is Phase I of the Gending-Besuki section, covering 49.68 km. As of July 2026, Section 1 (Gending-Kraksaan, 12.88 km) and Section 2 (Kraksaan-Paiton, 11.20 km) have 100% completed physical construction and have obtained the Certificate of Readiness for Function and Operation (SLFO). Meanwhile, Section 3 (Paiton-Besuki, 25.60 km) has 100% completed its main road works since April 2026 and is currently in the final stages of the Function and Operation Readiness Test (ULFO).
Commitment to safety and sustainability remains a priority, with all construction packages in Phase I successfully recording zero accidents. Furthermore, the project has absorbed more than 1,300 local workers from Probolinggo, Situbondo, Bondowoso, and Banyuwangi.
Once operational, Phase 1 of the Prosiwangi Toll Road is projected to reduce travel time between Probolinggo and Besuki to 1 hour and 15 minutes. This mobility efficiency is believed to create a multiplier effect for the regional economy. The presence of this toll road will streamline the logistics supply chain to the Paiton industrial area and Ketapang Port—the gateway for Java-Bali crossings—while simultaneously enhancing connectivity for premier tourism in the Tapal Kuda region and opening new business opportunities for local MSMEs.
