Trans-Java Route Dominates as 1.69 Million Vehicles Leave Jabotabek

JAKARTA - A total of 1,692,528 vehicles were recorded leaving the Jabotabek region from H-10 to H-2 (11–19 March 2026) ahead of Eid. This figure represents a 32.1% increase compared to normal traffic conditions, which saw 1,280,973 vehicles.

The number is cumulative from four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama, Kalihurip Utama, Cikupa, and Ciawi.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk’s President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that the 1.6 million vehicles departing Jabotabek constitute 48% of the projected total of 3.5 million vehicles expected to exit during the period from 11–31 March 2026.

In more detail, the traffic distribution during the mudik period includes 621,366 vehicles heading to Trans-Java via Cikampek Utama toll gate, an increase of 145.5% from normal levels. Subsequently, 302,368 vehicles headed to Bandung via Kalihurip Utama toll gate, up 8.5% from normal.

Vehicles heading south via Jagorawi toll road’s Ciawi toll gate numbered 328,245 units, up 4.2% from normal. Meanwhile, those heading to Merak via Cikupa toll gate on the Tangerang–Merak toll road totalled 440,549 vehicles, up 1.5% from normal.

“We are committed to continuously maintaining optimal operational services, both in terms of infrastructure, facilities and amenities, as well as the 24-hour readiness of personnel in the field. In addition, to improve services for road users, we are also providing emergency posts to quickly respond to customer needs,” said Rivan.

Jasa Marga is also continuing to optimise the use of information technology and communication channels to ensure that road users receive accurate and real-time traffic information, as well as ease of access to services during their journeys.
