Bekasi Police have revealed the methods of transacting Schedule G controlled drugs such as tramadol and eximer, which are now rampant in Bekasi City. The Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Bekasi City Metro Police, Commissioner Untung Riswaji, stated that one pattern frequently found in the field is someone waiting at a certain point to conduct a transaction. “One of them is someone sitting at a point, then approached by others, both adults and children, who then carry out the sticker system,” Untung said when confirmed by Kompas.com via message on Wednesday (22/4/2026). “The highest currently is in the Rawalumbu and East Bekasi areas,” he added. He explained that the pattern of illegal controlled drug sales has now changed. Previously, many were done openly at stalls, but now perpetrators more often use a cash on delivery (COD) system. According to Untung, this change in methods presents its own challenges for law enforcement because it is considered harder to detect. “This COD method is deliberately used to avoid supervision by officers. This is based on our investigations and monitoring,” he clarified. From those investigation results, the police then conducted developments to trace a wider network. Untung emphasised that his side continues to strive to eradicate the circulation of illegal controlled drugs because of their dangerous impact on society. He mentioned that consumption of controlled drugs without supervision can trigger excessive bravery that leads to criminal acts. In addition to enforcement, the police also open opportunities for public participation in supervision. Residents are asked not to hesitate to report suspicious activities related to the circulation of illegal controlled drugs. “We are open to community groups or residents. Please report to 110 or directly to us, we will definitely follow up,” he concluded.
