JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Several long-distance trains experienced hours-long delays at Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4/2026), as a result of a train collision at Bekasi Timur Station. One passenger bound for Klaten, Amanda (22), said she had been at the station since 10:00 WIB to catch the 11:10 WIB departure. However, more than an hour later, the train she was waiting for still had not departed. “Up to now, there’s still no certainty about the departure,” Amanda told Kompas.com at the location on Tuesday. This is because she was travelling with two friends for a holiday in Klaten. Nevertheless, she chose to wait rather than cancel her ticket. “From a personal perspective, it’s clearly delayed, but this is an unpredictable incident, so it can still be excused,” she said. Amanda added that, based on the information she received, the train would still depart despite the delay. “As far as I know, it will still go, just have to wait. The one scheduled for 08:00 WIB only departed now,” she explained. Meanwhile, Rifa (23), a passenger heading to Purwokerto, said her train was supposed to depart at 11:50 WIB, but as of midday, there was no further information from the station authorities. “It should have departed at 11:50 WIB, but up to now, there’s still no further info,” she said. She had anticipated a delay after hearing about the accident the previous night, but still hoped her journey would not be affected. “Actually, I already suspected there would be a delay, but since there was no info in the morning, I thought maybe it wouldn’t affect us. Turns out it did,” she explained.
