Training for 30,000 Prospective Red and White Village Cooperative Managers to Conclude in Early August
Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Ferry Juliantono said the training of 30,000 prospective managers of the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperative (KDKMP) will be completed in early August 2026. After the training, they will be placed in cooperatives that are beginning to operate in various regions.
“The activity will finish in early August, and afterwards the managers will be placed in the 30,000-odd Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperatives,” he said during the Regular Course LV Seminar of the TNI Command and Staff College (Sesko TNI) Academic Year 2026 at the Serasan Building of Sesko TNI in Bandung on Wednesday (8/7).
Beyond human resource preparation, Ferry said the government will also continue the process of verifying and validating cooperative buildings before they are handed over to village administrations.
He said that once the construction of cooperative buildings is complete, the government will carry out verification and validation before handing over the buildings.
According to him, the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperative buildings will later become village assets, not property of the Ministry of Cooperatives.
He said this status needs to be understood by the public, because the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperative is an economic institution owned by village communities that is expected to strengthen the local economy.
According to data from the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperative Information System (Simkopdes) as of 9 July 2026, of the 35,870 verified cooperative construction sites, around 20,000 units are currently under construction.
Meanwhile, around 15,500 Red and White Village Cooperatives have been 100 per cent completed.
