Train stations sell new schedules

JAKARTA: Not all commuters are familiar with the new train timetable, and have been prompted to purchase leaflets at ticket windows for Rp 500 (6 U.S. cents).

"But the leaflets only contain the timetable of the railway station issuing it. The complete schedule of Greater Jakarta commuter trains is available at the central Kota station in West Jakarta," Rudi Setiawan, a station officer at Jatinegara station, East Jakarta, was quoted by Tempointeraktif.com news portal.

The new schedules for commuter trains and intercity services to Java and Sumatra were made effective on Aug. 3, following the recent opening of newly constructed railway infrastructure on the two islands. -- JP
