Train Services from Gambir Remain Normal Despite Demonstrations; Passengers Urged to Take Note

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operations Area 1 Jakarta has confirmed that long-distance train services from Gambir Station will operate as normal and on schedule on Wednesday, despite planned demonstrations at several locations in Jakarta.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta public relations manager Franoto Wibowo said the demonstrations would not affect train departure times from Gambir Station, but passengers should take account of traffic conditions on roads leading to the station.

“All train services from Gambir Station will continue to operate normally and on schedule. We urge passengers to arrive early to anticipate possible congestion or traffic diversions due to today’s planned demonstrations,” Franoto said in an official statement on Wednesday (28 October 2026).

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also urged passengers to monitor the latest traffic information and follow officials’ instructions if vehicle traffic is managed around Gambir Station.

Earlier, Jakarta Transportation Agency head Budi Awaluddin said demonstrations would begin at 12 noon WIB, with activity planned around Monas, Tugu Tani and the DPR/MPR building.

He urged all road users, including long-distance rail passengers travelling to or from Gambir Station, to avoid the areas, adjust their travel times and routes, and comply with traffic signs and instructions from personnel on the ground, putting road safety first.

Meanwhile, public transport services, including Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta, are operating normally.

“If traffic is diverted, Transjakarta services will adjust to the traffic arrangements during the demonstrations,” Budi said.
