Train Passengers Reach 1.3 Million During Pancasila Day Long Weekend

JAKARTA — Public mobility during the 2026 Pancasila Day long weekend has shown a sustained high trend. As of Monday (1/6/2026) at 10:00 WIB, train ticket sales for the departure period of 26 May to 1 June 2026 have reached 1.3 million tickets. This figure is expected to increase as ticket sales remain ongoing. Meanwhile, during the six-day long weekend period from 26 to 31 May 2026, KAI served 1,176,013 passengers across various operational areas in Java and Sumatra.

“The travel patterns of customers during this year’s long weekend indicate increasingly flexible public mobility,” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, in an official statement on Tuesday (2/6/2026). According to Anne, travel patterns during this long holiday differed from the ‘mudik’ (homecoming) period, which is typically concentrated on specific days. During the Pancasila Day long weekend, passenger movement was more evenly distributed throughout the holiday period.
