Train Passengers During School Holidays Exceed 1.1 Million

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta recorded the number of train passengers during the school holiday period from 20 June to 5 July 2026 reaching 1.16 million people.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Franoto Wibowo, stated that during this period, 577,789 passengers departed and 5t84,232 passengers arrived at various stations within the Daop 1 Jakarta region.

“The high public interest shows that trains remain a reliable mode of transport that is safe, comfortable, and punctual,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday.

During the school holiday period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provided 629,649 seats on long-distance trains, with realised bookings reaching 570,032 tickets, representing an occupancy rate of approximately 90.5 per cent.

In addition to long-distance trains, local train services also received a positive response from the public. The Pangrango train recorded a total of 62,121 ticket bookings, while the Siliwangi train saw 28,548 tickets during the school holiday period.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also noted high utilisation of the 30 per cent Holiday Discount programme for Commercial Economy trains. From the 308,648 seats provided, 299,329 tickets were sold, or approximately 97 per cent.
