Train operator provides special car

BANDUNG, West Java: As the Idul Fitri holiday is drawing near, state train operator PT KAI will provide a train car especially for the elderly, the disabled and pregnant women.

The train car will be attached to every economy class train 10 days before and 10 days after the Idul Fitri holiday, said Siedharmo Ramadhan, the operations director at PT KAI.

The three categories of people deserved special treatment, said Ramadhan on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ramadhan said the train operator would operate 1,216 cars and 204 locomotives during the Idul Fitri holiday. The company has estimated the number of passengers will increase this year by 10 percent to 2.54 million passengers. -- JP
