Train journeys from Jakarta return to normal following KA Bangunkarta derailment
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Train journeys from Jakarta to the southern Java line, particularly the Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, and surrounding routes, have now returned to normal after being affected by the derailment of KA 161 Bangunkarta in Bumiayu, Central Java, on Monday (6/4).
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stated that departures of several trains (KA) from Jakarta are on schedule, including from Gambir Station, KA Taksaka to Yogyakarta departing at 07:45 WIB and KA 50F Purwojaya to Cilacap/Kroya departing at 07:20 WIB.
“KA 16 Argo Dwipangga to Solo departs at 08:50 WIB on schedule. The additional KA Manahan and Parahyangan are scheduled to depart on time,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, KA 6 Argo Semeru to Surabaya Gubeng departed at 06:43 WIB, 23 minutes late.
At Pasar Senen Station, several trains departed on schedule, namely KA 90 Gaya Baru Malam Selatan to Surabaya at 11:10 WIB, KA Fajar Utama Solo at 05:40 WIB, KA Sawunggalih to Kutoarjo at 06:30 WIB, and KA Fajar Utama Yogyakarta at 07:35 WIB.
Meanwhile, the line at Bumiayu Station could be traversed by 03:05 WIB with a speed restriction of 5 km/h. Journeys began to recover, marked by KA Batavia departing at 04:32 WIB and arriving at Linggapura at 04:53 WIB.
Then, as track conditions improved, the speed restriction was raised to 20 km/h at 04:40 WIB. Subsequently, KA Bengawan was dispatched at 05:10 WIB.
“KAI ensures that all handling processes prioritise safety. The line can now be traversed with limitations, and train journeys are being operated gradually,” Franoto said.
Along with the normalisation of the line, KAI is adjusting operational patterns to restore services gradually from the Daop 1 Jakarta region.
KAI also emphasises that although journeys have resumed, there remains potential for delays due to the previous disruption and the gradual normalisation process on that line.
