Train engineer disappears

JAKARTA (JP): Passengers of a commuter train heading for
Jakarta were left stranded over the weekend at the Bogor train
station because the engineer was not available.

Kusdinar, deputy chief of the station, told Antara that the
engineer was not where he was supposed to be.

He said he had no idea about the whereabouts of the engineer.
The train departed 45 minutes behind the scheduled departure time
after another engineer turned up to replace the "missing"
engineer.

Hundreds of passengers raised vehement complaints with
Kusdinar, many saying they could not stand being in the train any
longer due to the sweltering heat as the train was not air-
conditioned. (bas)
