Train derails crippling traffic

CILACAP, Central Java: Railway traffic was crippled for seven hours over the weekend after a train, carrying no passengers, was derailed.

The 11 carriages derailed in the Bojong village in Kawungwetan subdistrict. None of the crew members were reported hurt.

Head of the Operational Section of the Central Java office of the State Railway Company Perumka Sunato said the accident occurred at about 7:55 p.m. Friday.

The accident disrupted trains serving the Bandung-Surabaya route, he said as quoted by Antara. (imn)
