Train Collision in East Bekasi, PT KAI Focuses on Evacuating Passengers and Victims
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or PT KAI, has reported an operational incident at East Bekasi Station in the Jakarta Operational Area 1, which has impacted train services. Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, Anne Purba, stated that the company understands the situation has caused concern for customers and families awaiting news. “At present, all efforts are focused on the evacuation process for passengers and vehicle crew, as well as handling victims at the incident site, with the utmost priority on safety,” Anne said in her statement on Monday, 27 April 2026. She also extended apologies to customers. “We apologise for this incident.
