Train Collision Impact: Blue Line Route Congested and Many KA Schedules Delayed
The evacuation process of the wrecked KRL Commuter Line at Bekasi Station following the accident with KA Argo Bromo Anggrek on Monday (27/4/2026) is still ongoing. This continues to impact long-distance train journeys (KAJJ) to and from Jakarta, as well as KRL Commuter Line services on the Kampung Bandan-Cikarang route.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that long-distance train operations remain disrupted because a single track is still being used for both directions.
“Long-distance trains are still experiencing disruptions because we are still using one downstream track alternately, as we know that from Bekasi and Bekasi Timur (Blue Line), it is only double track, not double-double track,” said Bobby at Bekasi Timur Station on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Bobby detailed that out of 25 journeys, 19 KA trips have been forced to be cancelled, and the remaining six journeys are experiencing significant delays because the track between Bekasi-Tambun is still using one track alternately.
“25 long-distance train journeys are still affected,” he continued.
Full KAJJ operations will be carried out after the evaluation process related to equipment and supporting travel facilities is completed. The evaluation and inspection are considered important to ensure readiness and safety for future journeys.
“We evaluate. We check each component one by one, we check each system one by one. As soon as everything complies with the rules and UIC standards, we will operate normally,” he said.
