Tragedy in Japan: Indonesian Intern Dies After Being Trapped in Factory Mixer Machine

An Indonesian intern has died after suffering a workplace accident at a factory in Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The victim passed away after his neck became trapped in an operating mixer machine.

According to reports, the victim has been identified as Indra Kurnavan (21). The accident occurred on Wednesday (2/9/2026) at approximately 22:00 local time.

At the time of the incident, Indra was working at a factory owned by the material manufacturer Toda Kogyo Corp. Police stated that the victim was involved in the paint production process when the accident took place.

It is suspected that the victim suffered severe bleeding after his neck was caught inside the mixing machine. Police conducted an evacuation later that night.

According to police statements, Indra was working alone at the time. The mixer used in the production process has a diameter and depth of approximately 1.5 metres each.

Japanese police are currently investigating the incident. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage, noting that there were no eyewitnesses at the scene.
