Traffic volume on Cipali Toll Road increases, dominated by minibuses
Subang — Traffic on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road increased on the sixth day before Eid, with minibuses dominating the volume of vehicles passing through on Sunday.
Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head at Astra Tol Cipali, stated in Subang, West Java on Sunday that between midnight and 9 a.m., approximately 24,000 vehicles were recorded crossing the Cipali toll road section heading from Cikopo towards Cirebon.
This traffic volume represented an increase of 16.8 per cent compared to the volume at the same time the previous day. In the opposite direction, approximately 7,000 vehicles travelled from Cirebon towards Jakarta via Cikopo.
Overall, Astra Tol Cipali recorded a traffic volume increase of 8.1 per cent on the Cipali toll road compared to the same time the previous day.
In support of the government programme to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Eid exodus period, a 30 per cent toll fare discount has been implemented from Sunday at midnight until Monday 16 March at 11:59 p.m.
The discount applies to toll road users making continuous journeys from Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to Kalikangkung Toll Gate (Semarang).
Ardam called on the public to take advantage of the toll fare discount opportunity to plan their Eid exodus journeys earlier.
Travellers were also advised to manage their travel time properly and rest if feeling fatigued or drowsy at rest areas. However, rest area breaks should ideally be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes to allow other road users to utilise the facilities.
Additionally, travellers can make use of facilities outside the toll road by exiting at the nearest toll gate and re-entering without incurring additional charges, as the transaction system on the Trans Java Toll Road operates a closed system.
