Traffic Towards Cikampek Congested as Contraflow on KM 23-28 Reintroduced

Jakarta, Kompas.com — PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) has again imposed contraflow traffic management on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) KM 23-28 toward Cikampek, on Thursday 21 May 2026. The contraflow implementation began at 10:12 WIB as support for police discretion. The traffic arrangement is being applied to maintain smooth traffic flow amid rising volumes and ongoing road maintenance on the stretch.

Ria Marlinda Paallo, Vice President Corporate Secretary and Legal at PT JTT, said the contraflow at the location had been in effect since Tuesday, 19 May 2026. “Contraflow KM 23 through KM 28 toward Cikampek has been implemented since Tuesday, 19 May 2026 as an effort to support traffic flow around the road maintenance area,” she said, as quoted on Thursday 21 May 2026.

Ria said the traffic management arrangement is applied on a situational basis and will continue to be evaluated to adjust to on-site conditions. She added that JTT, together with the Police, monitors traffic conditions in real time via CCTV. In addition, operational staff are on standby to ensure safe and controlled traffic flow during the works. JTT also urged road users to plan their journeys before entering the toll road, to manage travel times, ensure vehicle condition is prime, and ensure sufficient balance on electronic toll cards.
