Traffic to TMII getting worse
Traffic to TMII getting worse
From Bisnis Indonesia
The traffic on the tollway in front of the Beautiful Miniature
Indonesia Park (TMII), East Jakarta, is getting worse, especially
during rush hours on weekdays and holidays.
The traffic jams occur mostly due to the rapid development of
housing complexes in Cipayung and Pondok Gede because most of the
residents use the road to avoid the congestion along the Pondok
Gede road.
Before the housing complexes were built, the traffic on
weekdays was relatively smooth, except when there was an event at
TMII.
Another cause of traffic jams is the bottleneck on the Hankam
highway which is situated to the west of TMII. The width of the
TMII road is 15 meters, while the road on the Hankam highway is
only five meters wide.
The best way to solve this problem is to widen the Hankam
highway to 15 meters. If the Jakarta Administration broadens the
street, the bottleneck would be eliminated.
