Traffic Surge on Cipali Toll Road Reaches 75 Per Cent; Tariff Discount to Begin Tomorrow
CIREBON – Vehicle traffic on the Cikopo–Palimanan (Cipali) toll road has begun increasing as the 2026 Ramadan exodus commences. The toll road operator recorded a significant surge in vehicle volumes travelling from Jakarta towards Cirebon on Saturday (14 March 2026).
Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head at Astra Tol Cipali, reported that by 12:00 WIB, approximately 26,000 vehicles had traversed the route from Cikopo to Cirebon.
“This traffic volume represents a 75 per cent increase compared to the same time period the previous day,” stated Ardam.
In the opposite direction, approximately 11,000 vehicles were recorded travelling from Cirebon to Jakarta. Overall, traffic volume on the Cipali toll road increased by approximately 48 per cent compared to the corresponding period the day before.
Ardam explained that the increase in vehicle traffic is expected to continue as the peak exodus period approaches. To facilitate smoother travel for those departing for the holiday, the toll road operator will implement a 30 per cent tariff discount.
“The toll discount applies to users of the toll road who make a continuous journey from the Cikampek Utama toll gate to Semarang (Kalikangkung toll gate),” Ardam said.
This discount policy will take effect on Sunday (15 March 2026) at 00:00 WIB until Monday (16 March 2026) at 24:00 WIB. The discount is intended to help reduce vehicle congestion by encouraging those travelling for the holiday to depart earlier.
Ardam urged the public to take advantage of the discount period to plan their departure times appropriately.
“By timing their journeys properly, we hope residents can enjoy a more comfortable, safe, and smooth journey along the Cipali toll road,” Ardam said.
