Traffic problem for 2008 games
BEIJING: Traffic congestion in the Chinese capital could be a problem for the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing, visiting International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials said on Sunday.
Peter Tallberg, chairman of the IOC Athlete's Commission, expressed concern about the traffic choking Beijing's roads when asked which areas the 2008 Olympic host city needed to pay special attention to, the Xinhua news agency reported.
"One problem which we all realize now in Beijing would be traffic, so that's one of the big problems for you," the Finnish Olympian told Xinhua.
Tallberg is visiting China with six other IOC members. They are attending the Fifth Chinese City Games in Changsha city, central Hunan province. --AFP
