Traffic Police Strengthen Traffic Surveillance as Precise ETLE Drone Patrols Take to the Skies in Bali
The Police’s Traffic Directorate (Korlantas Polri) conducted air monitoring using ETLE Drone Presisi at several strategic points in Denpasar City, Bali. The use of ETLE Drone Presisi as a means of traffic monitoring and surveillance is modern, accurate, and sustainable. The monitoring using ETLE Drone Presisi was conducted by Korlantas Polri to strengthen technology-based traffic law enforcement. This effort also aims to enhance road user safety. Air surveillance activities were carried out at several strategic points in Denpasar City, Bali, namely Pesanggaran Post, Denpasar GBB Post (Meru Intersection), and the Induk 6 Bali Mandara Toll area. The deployment of ETLE Drone technology is part of the implementation of strategic policies by Kakorlantas Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho. Inspector General Agus continues to push the transformation of the traffic law enforcement system toward a modern, transparent, accountable system focused on improving traffic safety across Indonesia. The activity is under the direction of the Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) of Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Faizal, who consistently promotes strengthening the National ETLE system through the use of advanced technological devices to improve the effectiveness of traffic surveillance and order amid the growing dynamics of mobility. On the ground, the air surveillance activity was led directly by Head of Sub-Directorate Dakgar Ditgakkum Korlantas Polri, Senior Commissioner Dwi Sumrahadi, together with the ETLE Drone operators team and in collaboration with the Bali Regional Police’s Ditlantas Gakkum Sub-Directorate, AKBP Satrio Prayogo, to ensure the monitoring runs optimally and can reach violation hotspots that are difficult to observe through conventional surveillance. Through the support of ETLE Drone Presisi technology, officers can conduct comprehensive traffic monitoring from the air, while identifying various potential violations that could compromise safety, order, and the smooth flow of traffic. The main focus of the surveillance in this activity is on violations against the traffic flow and violations of road markings, which remain among the dominant forms of violations on several Denpasar road segments. Air surveillance results show that a number of drivers still commit violations by driving against the flow, especially two-wheelers attempting to shorten their journey by crossing in the opposite direction. This behaviour not only violates traffic regulations but also has the potential to cause traffic conflicts and endanger other road users. Additionally, officers identified drivers violating road markings, such as crossing solid lines, changing lanes where not permitted, or manoeuvring a vehicle in contravention of traffic safety regulations. All violations detected through the air monitoring system were digitally documented via the ETLE Drone device, enabling verification in the electronic law enforcement process integrated with the National ETLE system. The use of ETLE Drone technology is expected to improve the effectiveness of traffic surveillance while also fostering public awareness and compliance with traffic regulations. Thus, this effort forms an important part of realising Security, Safety, Order, and Traffic Flow (Kamseltibcarlantas) in a sustainable manner, particularly in Denpasar Bali, which has high mobility as a centre of community and national tourism activity.
