Traffic Police raise share of manual fines to 30 percent in Patuh Operation

Jakarta – The Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) plans to raise the share of manual traffic fines to 30 percent during the 2026 Patuh Operation, up from 5 percent. Head of Korlantas Polri, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, said the increase is intended to minimise violations during the Zebra Operation and the Nataru Operation, which run after Patuh Operation. ‘So, if the policy previously used ETLE (electronic traffic ticketing) at 95 percent and manual fines at 5 percent, in this Patuh Operation we will be a little sterner: 70 percent via ETLE, 30 percent will be fined manually,’ he said at the Traffic Police Function Working Conference for 2026 at the PTIK building, Jakarta, on Friday. Agus said that Korlantas Polri, together with related ministries/agencies, has designated Road Traffic Safety Day. ‘We did this with the Minister at that time; in 2025 we announced it,’ he said. The day provides an opportunity for Korlantas and all stakeholders to collaborate in shaping safer roads, drivers, and vehicles. Korlantas Polri held the Rakernis Fungsi Lalu Lintas Tahun Anggaran 2026, which carries the theme ‘Digitalisation of Polantas Services to Support Polri Precision Transformation in the Realisation of Asta Cita’. Several officials attended the event, including Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Chair of Commission III of the DPR Habiburokhman, and Chair of the DPR’s MKD Nazaruddin Dek Gam. Also present were Korlantas stakeholders such as Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono, Jasa Raharja President Director Muhammad Awaluddin, and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) President Director Achmad Muchtasyar. Several senior Mabes Polri officials were also in attendance, including Krwasum Polri General Inspector Wahyu Widada, Kabaharkam Polri General Inspector Karyoto, and Kalemdiklat Polri General Inspector R.Z Panca Putra Simanjuntak.
