Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Director of Registration and Identification (Dirregident) of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Brigadier General Pol. Wibowo, has invited Gen Z to participate in a campaign promoting compliant vehicle administration through the ‘Police Connects’ program.

This initiative coincides with the Traffic Corps’ promotion of the tagline “Safe Homecoming, Happy Family,” which is planned to be launched on March 3, 2026, or during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

“Gen Z is a digital generation that is creative and has a significant influence in the public sphere and on social media. We invite them to become agents of change, campaigning for the importance of compliant vehicle administration as part of a culture of road safety,” he said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Wibowo stated that the “Safe Homecoming” tagline is not only about traffic management, service posts, and security in accident-prone areas, but also begins with complete and valid vehicle administration preparedness.

Completeness, such as active driving licenses (SIM), valid vehicle registration certificates (STNK), valid vehicle ownership certificates (BPKB), and compliance with vehicle registration and identification, are the basic foundations of safety and order.

He also emphasized that compliant administration is a form of moral responsibility towards oneself, family, and fellow road users, as it will facilitate supervision by the traffic police.

Meanwhile, the meaning of “Happy Family” relates to the homecoming tradition, which is an emotional journey to reunite with parents and relatives.

He said that this happiness can only be achieved if the journey is carried out with discipline, adherence to rules, and ensuring that all aspects of the vehicle, both technical and administrative, are in good condition.

To support the realization of this tagline, Wibowo encourages digital education, interactive discussions, and creative campaigns on various platforms that are popular with Gen Z.

He hopes that collective awareness of compliant vehicle administration will grow as a new lifestyle for the younger generation.

“We want safety to be a need, not just an obligation. When administration is compliant, vehicles are roadworthy, and drivers are disciplined, then the homecoming will be safe and the family will be happy,” he said.
