The Commander of Traffic Police (Korlantas Polri) Irjen Agus Suryonugroho conducted a direct inspection of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Selatan toll road section on Sunday (8 March) by patrol motorcycle. Irjen Agus confirmed that this functional route is ready to be used to support smooth mudik and balik traffic flow during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period.

The inspection was conducted by Irjen Agus to ensure that the infrastructure from Sadang to Setu is suitable for use to support the 2026 Ketupat Operation. Agus stated that currently, work remains at two final points at KM 16 and KM 13, which are targeted to be completed within days.

“There are two points still undergoing repairs at KM 16 and KM 13, but the toll road management has indicated that within two to three days ahead, these repairs will be completed,” said Agus in his statement on Monday (9 March 2026).

Subsequently, the Sadang to Bojongmangu section will be operated for both mudik and balik traffic. Meanwhile, the Sadang to Setu section will be functionalised specifically to manage vehicle congestion during the balik traffic flow from the Bandung direction towards Jakarta.

“The Japek II Selatan will also be able to divert vehicle traffic from Bandung heading towards Jakarta, which usually passes through Cikampek. With this functional route, traffic can be managed through two lanes, which can reduce congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road,” he explained.

To prevent congestion at exit points, Korlantas Polri has prepared a traffic management scheme at Bojongmangu and Setu toll exits. If vehicle volume spikes sharply, traffic will be diverted towards Deltamas.

“If traffic is quite high, we will then direct vehicles to Deltamas so not all exit at Setu. Traffic management at the toll exit will be managed based on traffic counting conditions at that time,” said Irjen Agus.

In addition to stationing personnel at control posts, Korlantas Polri is also utilising digital traffic monitoring technology to monitor vehicle movement in real-time throughout the functional route.
