Traffic Police Chief: Operation Ketupat 2026 Officially Concludes, Followed by Enhanced Routine Activities until 29 March
With the permission of Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Head of the National Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, has officially closed Operation Ketupat 2026. Although this humanitarian operation has concluded, security along the homecoming routes remains on high alert through Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) until the end of this weekend.
The closure of Operation Ketupat 2026 was carried out by Inspector General Agus in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday (25/3/2026) evening. Inspector General Agus revealed that, in general, the security and public order situation during the 2026 Eid celebrations was maintained safely, orderly, and conducive, with no notable incidents.
This year’s smooth traffic flow was assessed as successful thanks to close synergy and collaboration with all stakeholders, as well as the implementation of precise, measured, and data-based traffic engineering.
“Operation Ketupat 2026 was carried out for 13 days, from 13 to 25 March. However, in line with the instructions from the Police Chief, security does not stop; the National Police will continue with Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) until 29 March 2026,” said Inspector General Agus to reporters on Wednesday (25/3/2026) evening.
This year’s security success is inseparable from the highly dynamic traffic management. The police successfully implemented the National Precision One-Way scheme from KM 70 to KM 414 during the homecoming flow. Meanwhile, for the return flow, a similar scheme was applied from KM 414 to KM 70 to ensure smooth travel towards Jakarta.
One of the key innovations that stood out was the implementation of Local Precision One-Way, known as ‘One Way Sepenggal’. This strategy was carried out in stages, such as on the KM 70 to KM 263 section, to specifically disperse vehicle flow surges at congestion points without permanently closing route access.
“The implementation of precise, measured, and situational traffic engineering has proven effective in maintaining the smooth mobility of the public. All of this was done based on integrated real-time data through the Traffic Corps Command Center,” he explained.
Inspector General Agus extended his highest appreciation to all personnel in the field as well as the solid and responsive synergy among stakeholders. The presence of officers was not only to manage roads but also to provide humane services in line with the directives of Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
“Services to the public ran optimally and humanely, supported by synergy among stakeholders and the increasing use of modern technology. All of this is to realise the spirit of Safe Homecoming, Happy Family,” emphasised the Traffic Corps Chief.
Inspector General Agus also conveyed that Operation Ketupat 2026 recorded positive achievements with a 30.41 percent decrease in the number of fatalities compared to 2025. Nevertheless, the police remain vigilant as there is still a significant remaining return flow.
“There is still a remaining return flow of 42.29 percent that we will continue to monitor through KRYD until 29 March,” said the Head of the Operation Ketupat 2026 Operations Unit.
“That duty is an honour; we must not tire and we must not grow weary in serving the public to ensure they return home safely and securely,” concluded Inspector General Agus.
