Setu, VIVA – National Traffic Police Commander (Kakorlantas) Irjen Agus Suryonugroho inspected the readiness of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South toll section, which will be operationalised during the Eid 2026 exodus and return traffic periods. The inspection was conducted by Kakorlantas on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

The inspection was undertaken to ensure the functional toll section from Sadang to Setu can be properly utilised to support smooth traffic flow during Operation Ketupat 2026, particularly during the return traffic period.

Agus explained that two work sites remain in the completion stage on the Sadang-Setu Functional Toll section at kilometres 16 and 13.

“There are two points still undergoing repairs at kilometres 16 and 13. However, the toll road operator has indicated that these repairs will be completed within the next two to three days,” Agus stated.

He explained that the Functional Toll section from Sadang to Setu can alleviate vehicle congestion during the Eid return period. Meanwhile, the Functional Toll section from Sadang to Bojongmangu can be used during both the exodus and return periods.

Additionally, Korlantas Polri is preparing several traffic management schemes at various points, particularly at the Bojongmangu and Setu toll exits, to anticipate potential vehicle congestion.

Agus explained that there are four toll exits that will be operationalised on the toll section. Should vehicle volume increase, vehicles from the functional toll can be diverted through Deltamas to prevent all traffic exiting at Setu.

“If traffic is quite heavy, we will divert vehicles through Deltamas so not everything exits at Setu. Traffic management engineering at the toll exits will be managed based on traffic counting conditions at that time,” he stated.

With the Japek II South Functional Toll in place, it is hoped it will serve as an alternative route for vehicles from Bandung heading to Jakarta, which have historically travelled via the Jakarta-Cikampek toll.

“The Japek II South will also be able to divert vehicle flow from Bandung to Jakarta that normally uses Cikampek. With this functional route, traffic can be managed through two routes, thereby reducing congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll,” he explained.

To support vehicle traffic management during Operation Ketupat 2026, Korlantas Polri will also utilise traffic monitoring technology on both the main toll and functional toll sections.
