Traffic on Yos Sudarso Street, Tanjung Priok Returns to Normal After Severe Congestion
JAKARTA – Traffic on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, has returned to normal after experiencing severe congestion on Friday (13 March 2026) afternoon.
Based on monitoring at the location around 08:25 WIB, traffic density no longer occurred in the route from Sunter heading towards Tanjung Priok.
This condition differed from the situation on Friday afternoon, when traffic from Sunter to Tanjung Priok experienced severe congestion.
However, on Saturday morning, travel time from Sunter to Tanjung Priok returned to normal at approximately 10 minutes due to smooth traffic conditions.
Similar conditions were also observed on traffic flows from Tanjung Priok Port towards Jalan Raya Cilincing, which had previously experienced severe congestion but has now returned to normal.
Traffic from Tanjung Priok Terminal, specifically on Jalan Enggano heading towards the port area, was also observed to be flowing smoothly this morning.
The normalised traffic conditions relieved motorists. “Thank God it’s smooth, although there are some intersections that are a bit congested, like the intersection in front of NPCT, Cilincing, and the direction towards Marunda, but that is normal,” said Ibnu when interviewed on Jalan Enggano, Sunday (14 March 2026).
“From Graha Segara to Enggano, if there’s no congestion it only takes 15 minutes, but motorcycles can weave through – when it’s congested it wastes 40 minutes because the detour is so long,” he added.
Previously, traffic around Tanjung Priok Port experienced severe congestion on Friday afternoon.
One cause of the congestion was a trailer truck accident on Jalan Cakung Cilincing Raya, North Jakarta, around 14:00 WIB.
As a result of this incident, traffic flow along Jalan Cakung Cilincing Raya experienced congestion.
Vehicle queues even extended to the front of Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT).
