Traffic on Gatot Subroto Under Guard Ahead of MPR Annual Session

Traffic on Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto towards the MPR/DPR/DPD RI complex in Jakarta began receiving police supervision on Friday morning ahead of the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD.

ANTARA observed at the location until 07.30 WIB that traffic was flowing smoothly, with officers stationed at several points leading to the parliamentary complex.

This was done to anticipate vehicle congestion and to manage the movement of vehicles passing around the site of the state event.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD, and to deliver the State Address as part of the 81st Independence Day commemorations at the MPR/DPR/DPD RI building on Friday (14/8) at 08.30 WIB.

The event is expected to increase vehicle volume on several roads around Senayan.

Polda Metro Jaya previously announced that traffic management around the MPR/DPR RI building would be implemented situationally from 08.00 WIB to adjust to traffic flow conditions.

Should access to the MPR/DPR RI building from Jalan Gatot Subroto begin to be restricted, vehicles may be diverted to Jalan Gerbang Pemuda and then use roads around the Senayan area.

The diversion scheme is one of the alternative routes that motorists should note to avoid vehicle build-up around the entrance to the parliamentary complex.

Motorists who have no business heading to the parliamentary complex are also advised to choose alternative routes and follow the directions of officers on the ground while the traffic management is in effect.
