Traffic Normal, Contraflow on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Discontinued
JAKARTA – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) has discontinued the contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta–Cikampek toll road towards Cikampek, specifically from KM 36 to KM 70. Previously, the contraflow had been implemented situationally with an open-closed scheme since 17 March 2026, based on police discretion to anticipate a surge in vehicle volume. Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that this decision was made after considering the developments in on-site vehicle volume. “After the contraflow traffic engineering was previously implemented situationally with an open-closed scheme since 17 March 2026. Based on traffic monitoring in the field, the peak vehicle volume occurred on 18 March 2026,” said Ria in her official statement. With this normalisation, toll road users can now pass through the section without any contraflow arrangements. Nevertheless, toll road users are still advised to maintain safety while driving, especially during the ongoing homecoming traffic period. Ria also reminded drivers to ensure the condition of their vehicles and that drivers are in prime condition before undertaking the journey. “We urge all Trans Java toll road users to continue prioritising safety during their travels, ensuring the condition of the driver and vehicle is prime, with sufficient power, fuel, and electronic money balance before entering the toll road. Road users are also expected to comply with signs and instructions from on-site officers,” she said. With traffic conditions now under control, it is hoped that the journeys of homecoming travellers on the Jakarta–Cikampek toll road section will proceed more smoothly and safely.
