Traffic mix up at Cikokol
Traffic mix up at Cikokol
From Media Indonesia
Passing through Cikokol is now inconvenient. The road in front
of the Cikokol market consists of three lanes: one for the
shoppers to park their cars, the middle one for public
transportation vehicles, leaving only one for thousands of cars
passing by every morning.
Actually this can be overcome by having the vendors operate in
places reserved for that purpose, allowing visitors to park in
the proper parking lot.
In addition, the road in front of Cikokol terminal also
consists of three lanes. One is heavily damaged, the other
monopolized by parked public transportation vehicles. This can
also be solved by using the terminal properly and repairing the
damaged road.
Observing all these things, I think the traffic jams are
caused by the inability of the authorities, market organizers and
the terminal management; or perhaps this is all "engineered" to
make Tangerang residents think the Cikokol traffic jam is
inevitable, hence the need for a flyover.
