Bekasi — Traffic management measures on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road are being extended during the peak exodus period ahead of Eid al-Fitr to ensure smooth vehicular flow.

Ria Marlinda Paallo, Vice President of Corporate Secretary and Legal Affairs at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, stated that road users are urged to observe traffic signs and follow the directions of traffic officers in relation to ongoing traffic management measures on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road and the trans-Java corridor.

The traffic management involves contraflow arrangements continuing on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road towards Cikampek from kilometre 36 to kilometre 70 due to the high volume of vehicles passing through. The contraflow commenced at 00:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

One-way traffic management has also been implemented in stages, beginning from kilometre 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road through to kilometre 263 of the Pemalang-Pejagan toll road since Tuesday 17 March at 15:18 WIB, to alleviate congestion for vehicles heading towards the eastern trans-Java region.

Paallo stated that these traffic management measures represent a collaborative effort between toll road operators and the police to maintain smooth mobility during the Lebaran exodus period on the trans-Java toll network.

The toll operator, in coordination with the police and all relevant stakeholders, continues to monitor and evaluate traffic conditions to ensure optimal toll road service during this year’s Eid holiday period.

Road users are advised to ensure sufficient balance on their electronic toll cards before entering the toll road, maintain their vehicles in good condition, and rest at designated rest areas if fatigued to ensure safe and comfortable journeys.

Motorists are also encouraged to download the Travoy application to receive updated travel information. Road users can contact Jasa Marga’s 24-hour call centre on 133 for current traffic information.
