Traffic Management Measures for Eid 2026 Homecoming and Return Journey Announced
The government has prepared several traffic management measures to anticipate vehicle congestion during the outbound and return journeys for the 2026 Eid holiday. The schemes implemented include one-way systems, contraflow arrangements, and odd-even vehicle restrictions on several major toll road sections.
These policies are implemented during specific periods before and after Eid al-Fitr to ensure smooth travel for holiday commuters. According to the Ministry of Transportation, the following are the traffic management schedules for the outbound and return journeys during the 2026 Eid period.
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SCHEDULE FOR OUTBOUND JOURNEY
One-way:
Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 12:00 WIB until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB
Applied on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road from KM 70 to Semarang-Solo KM 421
Contraflow:
First period: Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 14:00 WIB until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB
Second period: Saturday, 21 March 2026 at 12:00-20:00 WIB and Sunday, 22 March 2026 at 09:00-18:00 WIB
Applied on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road from KM 47 (West Karawang) to KM 70 (Cikampek)
Odd-even:
Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 14:00 WIB until Friday, 20 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB

For information purposes, the peak outbound traffic for the 2026 Eid holiday is estimated to occur in two waves. The first is projected to take place on 14-15 March 2026, whilst the second is expected on 18-19 March 2026.
