Banten Regional Police have prepared a series of traffic management measures for the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah homecoming period, or Lebaran 2026. The arrangements cover the regulation of port entry points through to rest areas en route to Merak Port.

Head of Public Relations at Banten Regional Police, Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, explained that traffic flow management would be implemented through a system dividing ferry ports according to vehicle type.

“Pedestrian passengers, private cars, pick-up trucks, Elf minibuses, and buses will be directed through Merak Port. Meanwhile, motorcycles and Class 6B trucks will use Ciwandan Port. Class 7, Class 8, and Class 9 trucks will be directed through BBJ Bojonegara Port,” said Maruli on Thursday (19 February 2026).

The traffic management measures will be in effect from Saturday, 14 March 2026 at 00:00 Western Indonesian Time until Saturday, 28 March 2026 at 24:00 Western Indonesian Time.

In addition, Banten Regional Police have prepared a number of rest areas and buffer zones for motorcycle riders along the homecoming route from the Tangerang Police jurisdiction through to Ciwandan Port.

Buffer zone locations are situated at Cikupa Mas Toll Gate, East Balaraja Toll Gate, West Balaraja Toll Gate, and the Modern Cikande Area Service Post.

Further capacity is available at Serang City Police Headquarters, which will accommodate approximately one thousand two-wheeled vehicles. Additional locations within the Cilegon Police jurisdiction include the Grogol Sub-sector, the rear of Cilegon City Hall, Cilegon Police parking area, South Ring Road, and in front of Sarimanis BCA on South Ring Road.

“In addition to traffic flow management, vehicle restrictions will also be imposed on both the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road and non-toll routes leading to Merak Port during the same period, namely 14 to 28 March 2026,” he continued.

To prevent vehicle build-up around the port area, restrictions will be placed on ferry ticket purchase locations within a radius of 4.71 kilometres from the port area, with Hotel Pesona Merak as the reference point.
