Traffic management during the erection of girders at Latumenten
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) is implementing traffic management around the Latumenten flyover in West Jakarta due to the erection girder stage, i.e., lifting and installing precast concrete girders as the main structural elements.
“We urge the public to adjust their travel times and to comply with traffic signs and directions from officers on site,” said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) of the DKI Jakarta Department of Public Works (Dinas Bina Marga), speaking in Jakarta on Thursday.
She said that the erection girder work on the western side of Latumenten Road will take place 18-26 May 2026 from 22:00 to 04:00 WIB. Meanwhile, works on the eastern side of Makaliwe Raya are scheduled from 29 May to 5 June 2026 during the same hours, 22:00-04:00 WIB.
She noted that to support smooth operations and road user safety, traffic management will be implemented on several streets during the works.
The traffic diversions on several streets, namely on the West side, from the South direction (Grogol flyover), from the East direction (Roxy) and from the West direction (Jalan Daan Mogot) toward the North for heavy vehicles will be diverted via Jalan Daan Mogot-Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke.
Meanwhile, small vehicles can pass via Jalan Hadiah-Jalan Hadiah 1-Jalan Hadiah 2-Jalan Prof Dr Latumeten Barat 3 or via Jalan Dr Susilo I-Jalan Dr. Muwardi I-Jalan Dr Muwardi Il-Jalan Dr Muwardi-Jalan Semeru and so on. Traffic from North to South can still pass.
Then, traffic management on the East side, starting from the North toward the South for heavy vehicles is detoured via a U-turn at a roundabout before Season City-Jalan Prof Dr Latumeten-Jalan Pangeran Tubagus Angke-Jalan Daan Mogot, with a right turn at the Jembatan Dua intersection; while vehicles to other directions can pass via Jalan Semeru-Jalan Dr Muwardi-Jalan Dr Susilo 1 and so on / can pass via Jalan Dr Semeru I.
Siti confirmed that all construction stages are being carried out in accordance with safety standards and the set timelines.
“We apologise for any inconvenience that may arise during the work,” she said.
The Latumeten flyover project aims, among other things, to eliminate the risk of accidents at railway level crossings, shorten travel times by separating road traffic and train movements, and spur economic growth in the area through more efficient accessibility.
“The presence of the flyover will also facilitate the transfer of users to other transport modes, with TOD at Grogol Station, the Transjakarta or Jaklingko stops, and other public transport,” she added.
