Traffic Lights on Daan Mogot Road Fail Due to Power Outage

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Several traffic lights along Jalan Daan Mogot in West Jakarta have gone out due to a power outage on Thursday afternoon.

Cengkareng Police Traffic Unit Chief AKP Yeni confirmed that several traffic lights in the Daan Mogot area under Cengkareng jurisdiction have been off since around 11:30 AM.

“Earlier, the traffic lights went out starting around 11:30 AM. In the Cengkareng area, if the PLN electricity goes out, the traffic lights automatically go out as well. Specifically in Daan Mogot, the traffic lights at Cengkareng Timur and Cengkareng Barat are out, both towards Rawa Buaya and the other three directions,” said Yeni when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Thursday.

Nevertheless, she said, vehicle traffic has not yet experienced any build-up.

“Our officers have been deployed to several points for follow-up action. Up to this afternoon, there has been no build-up,” Yeni stated.

She mentioned that a build-up of vehicles could occur in the evening if the electricity does not come back on.

“If it’s in the evening, because it’s rush hour, it will usually build up,” Yeni explained.

Her side has contacted PLN regarding the power outage in the area.

“I have contacted PLN. From them, they said there is a problem, and it is currently being followed up by PLN,” Yeni revealed.
