Traffic lights on Masbagik-Labuhan Lombok Road, specifically at the Rempung four-way intersection in Pringgasela Subdistrict, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), have been out for two weeks. Drivers are complaining, feeling worried when crossing the road there.

“This traffic light has been out for two weeks already,” explained Fahmi, one of the ojek drivers stationed in the area, on Monday (4/5/2026).

The situation is feared to endanger drivers. According to Fahmi, traffic flow at this intersection is quite busy because it is a tourist route to Sembalun and also a path for vehicles to Kayangan Port.

“Usually in the mornings and evenings it’s quite busy because this is the road to tourist areas and it’s also usually passed by large trucks heading to Kayangan Port,” said Fahmi.

Deni, another driver, admitted to feeling anxious when passing through the road. He is worried that with the traffic lights not functioning, it could trigger traffic accidents.

“I’m a bit worried too; sometimes drivers don’t want to yield and try to go first. If the stop lights are out, it’s dangerous; this could become the cause of an accident,” added Deni.

The Head of the East Lombok Transportation Agency, Muhammad Safwan, said that he has reported the condition to the NTB Land Transportation Management Centre (BPTD).

“We have already reported it to BPTD; we will inform them again,” said Safwan.
