Traffic Jams Hit Multiple Jakarta-Bound Toll Roads as Chinese New Year Long Weekend Ends
Traffic on several toll road sections heading towards Jakarta was congested on Wednesday morning following the end of the Chinese New Year long weekend, which ran from Saturday to Tuesday (14-17 February 2026). One of the main congestion points occurred on the Jagorawi Toll Road in the Jakarta direction.
"The Jagorawi Toll Road from Cimanggis KM 16 to the Cibubur Exit at KM 14+500 is congested due to high traffic volume. From TMII KM 06 to Kalicipinang KM 03, traffic is dense. From Cililitan KM 02 to Cawang KM 00, traffic is also dense due to high volume," said Jasa Marga via its official X account on Wednesday (18/2/2026).
Additionally, a truck experienced a wheel malfunction in lane 1 at Ciawi KM 45+800 on Wednesday morning. Jasa Marga urged other motorists to exercise caution when passing through the area.
Meanwhile, traffic on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road heading towards Jakarta was also experiencing congestion, specifically from Jatiwaringin KM 5 to Cawang KM 00, caused by high traffic volume.
"On the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, please exercise caution at Karawang Barat KM 48+600 heading towards Jakarta, as a trailer truck has broken down in lane 1 and the left hard shoulder," the company said.
Traffic on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road was also congested on Wednesday morning, specifically from Kunciran KM 13 towards Karang Tengah KM 09. Traffic from Kembangan towards Kedoya was likewise experiencing congestion due to high vehicle volume.
"From Kembangan KM 08 to Kedoya KM 04, traffic is dense due to high volume," it said.
Authorities implemented a contraflow system on the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, specifically from Kebon Jeruk KM 03+400 to past the Tomang Underpass at KM 00. The contraflow lane was applied on the right-hand side.
"Please maintain order in the queue," the company said.
