Traffic Jams During Return Flow: Alternative Rest Areas Near Cipali Toll Road
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The condition of the Lebaran 2026 return flow on the Trans-Java toll road is monitored as relatively controlled. PT Jasa Marga assures that the increase in vehicle volume, including that predicted to occur on 28–29 March 2026, can be managed well together with stakeholders. Jasa Marga’s President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono, explained that readiness of services and infrastructure is the main key in maintaining the smooth travel of returnees to Jakarta. In addition to traffic engineering such as one-way and contraflow, attention is also focused on rest area facilities that often become density points. “We continue to evaluate and arrange rest areas, both in terms of traffic flow management and capacity,” said Rivan, in an official statement, Saturday (28/3/2026). “Road users can also optimise alternative rest areas around toll exit accesses along the Trans-Java Toll Road, from the Semarang–Solo Toll Road KM 444 to the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road KM 72, so that they still have options if the main rest areas on the toll road experience density,” he said. 1.
