Traffic flows smoothly on Bandung-Garut route via Kadungora
Garut — Traffic on the Bandung-Garut homecoming route via Kadungora-Leles-Garut City remained smooth on Tuesday evening, with both motorcycles and cars travelling normally from Bandung towards Garut municipality in West Java.
Field observations at 23:30 WIB showed both two and four-wheeled vehicles maintaining normal speeds without significant obstruction throughout the route. However, traffic briefly slowed when entering the railway crossing in the Kadungora area, with considerable queues forming from both directions when the crossing gates closed to allow trains to pass.
The delay was short-lived, with traffic resuming normal flow immediately once the train had cleared the crossing and the queues dispersed.
Kusuma (39), a road user from Garut, reported that traffic from Bandung to Garut via Kadungora operated sufficiently smoothly with no congestion experienced during his evening homecoming journey. “Praise be, the journey was normal as on any regular day on the Kadungora-Leles route to Garut; usually if there is congestion, traffic is diverted through the new road at Kadungora, but now we went straight through,” he said of his travel from Bandung to Garut.
Garut Police deployed 1,747 combined personnel for security operations during Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026, comprising 431 Garut Police personnel, 169 personnel on loan from West Java Regional Police, and 1,147 personnel from various agencies including the Indonesian Armed Forces, Department of Transportation, Civil Protection, Civil Service Police, Fire Service, Indonesian Red Cross, Health Department, National Search and Rescue Agency, and volunteers.
