Traffic Flows Smoothly Around Monas During Pancasila Day Ceremony at Gedung Pancasila on Monday Morning

Traffic around Gedung Pancasila on Jalan Taman Pejambon in Central Jakarta, where the Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony was held, flowed smoothly on Monday morning (1 June 2026). Observations at 7:30 AM showed traffic was busy but not congested in the National Monument (Monas) area, Medan Merdeka Street, Banteng Square, and around Gedung Pancasila. Traffic congestion was only seen around Medan Merdeka Timur Street leading to Menteng due to queues at the Tugu Tani intersection. Traffic police were stationed along the road from Cathedral Church to Taman Pejambon, where Gedung Pancasila is located. The police directed vehicles heading to the ceremony site to reach parking areas without causing congestion for other vehicles. No traffic management measures were observed around Gedung Pancasila or Monas. Only a lane narrowing was in place on Jalan Taman Pejambon in front of Gedung Pancasila, as the leftmost carriageway and pavement were used by ceremonial troops and the President’s security team. Motorists passing through or visiting the Monas tourist area on the last day of the long holiday enjoyed smooth traffic on Monday morning. Drivers heading to Gedung Pancasila from Juanda or Gunung Sahari could proceed smoothly via Jalan Pos to Banteng Square, then turn onto Jalan Taman Pejambon. Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi stated that the national Pancasila Day ceremony led by Prabowo would begin at 10:00 AM WIB. “The President of the Republic of Indonesia will attend in person and serve as the ceremony’s inspector. The event will be held at the Gedung Pancasila grounds on Jalan Taman Pejambon, Jakarta,” Yudian said during a press conference at the BPIP office in Jakarta on Friday (29 May 2026). The ceremony will also be conducted online, allowing the public to participate from their locations. “Members of the public and government officials who have already held ceremonies in their respective regions can follow the national ceremony via live streams on BPIP’s YouTube channel, Facebook page, Instagram, or national television,” Yudian added.
