Bandung city police reported that vehicle traffic entering Bandung on six days before Eid al-Fitr 2026 remained normal and had not experienced significant increases.

Head of Traffic Unit at Bandung Metropolitan Police, AKBP Hudi Arief, stated that his officers were monitoring every toll gate and arterial road serving as entry points to Bandung city.

“Up to now, monitoring shows that traffic from Jakarta entering Bandung city is still minimal. Whether through Pasirkoja, Buahbatu, or Mochammad Toha toll exits,” Hudi said in Bandung on Sunday.

According to him, the vehicle increase occurring so far had not been particularly significant despite the Eid holiday period having begun. Traffic congestion only occurred at certain times, particularly in the evening approaching the time for breaking the fast.

“So traffic flow within Bandung city so far remains manageable. Activity during peak hours such as late afternoon or approaching breaking the fast sees many people engaging in communal fast-breaking activities,” he said.

Additionally, after the fast-breaking activities, some residents also took the opportunity to visit shopping centres in Bandung city.

Hudi added that his office projected increased vehicle flow towards Bandung city would actually occur after Eid al-Fitr day. According to him, this was caused by many residents from surrounding areas and from outside the city who typically come to Bandung for tourism during the Eid holiday period.

“We estimate the peak perhaps will occur after Eid day. Because residents from around Bandung city and from the Jakarta direction will undertake tourism or holiday activities to the Bandung region and surrounding areas such as towards Lembang and Soreang,” Hudi said.
