Traffic Engineering Prepared for Anwar Ibrahim's Meeting with Prabowo
Jakarta Traffic Police are preparing traffic engineering measures for the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to Jakarta on Friday (27/3). Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to meet President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. “Just like other VVIP security measures. Closures will only occur when the official entourage passes through,” said the Head of Traffic Police of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Komarudin, to reporters on Friday. Komarudin stated that the traffic engineering is scheduled for 3:30 PM WIB later in the afternoon. He mentioned that police will be deployed along the routes traversed by the entourage to ensure smooth traffic flow. “(The routes traversed) Gatsu (Jalan Gatot Subroto), Sudirman, Thamrin,” he said. Previously, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting between Anwar Ibrahim and Prabowo will discuss recent geopolitical developments amid the war between Iran and the United States and Israel. “Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make a special visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on 27 March 2026, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto,” as per the statement from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuala Lumpur. The discussion of these geopolitical issues will also focus on the conflict in the Middle East region and its impacts on the region and the global economy. The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that these latest developments require comprehensive, careful, and coordinated discussions between the two countries to align positions and strengthen strategic cooperation in responding to the situation. The meeting will also emphasise the importance of strengthening ASEAN’s role as a united and principled bloc. Thus, the region can act collectively in maintaining peace, preserving regional stability, and protecting economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
