Traffic engineering measures will be implemented in the Harmoni area of Central Jakarta, effective from 25 May until 27 September 2026, in conjunction with construction works for the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A.

Rendy Primartantyo, Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), stated that the traffic arrangements are designed to support construction works for the CP202 contract package of Phase 2A. This work package includes the construction of underground stations at Harmoni, Sawah Besar, and Mangga Besar, as well as the development of a tunnel connecting Harmoni to Mangga Besar.

“Traffic engineering management has been conducted by PT MRT Jakarta alongside the Shimizu Adhi Karya Joint Venture, acting as the executing contractor, in coordination with the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency and the Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police,” Rendy said on Tuesday (19/5/2026), as reported by the official website of the Jakarta Provincial Government.

PT MRT Jakarta has apologised for any potential inconvenience caused during the construction period. “We hope for the understanding and cooperation of the public in supporting the implementation of this project. Furthermore, we urge road users and public transport operators to pay attention to traffic signs and follow the instructions of officers on the ground,” Rendy added.

Regarding the extension of Phase 3.2, the traffic engineering period that previously ran until 30 April 2026 has been extended until 24 May 2026. This extension is due to ongoing excavation, station construction, underpass canals, and station entrance works. During this phase, vehicles heading towards Jalan Hasyim Ashari and the Kota direction are diverted using lanes on Jalan Hayam Wuruk via a two-lane contraflow system, while the lanes on Jalan Hayam Wuruk heading towards Monas remain at three lanes.

Starting 25 May 2026, Phase 4.1 of the traffic engineering will be implemented to support the continuation of construction works.
